For newlyweds who want to explore more unexpected territory, Kenya is a place where one will keep the adventure alive long past the walk down the aisle.

Eric Omenda from Kenya Tourism Board says newly-weds who want to explore more unexpected territory during their first few days as a married couple, Kenya is the best place to be.

In Kenya he said one can have surprising romantic spots stretching from the infrastructure, people, beautiful beaches and so forth.
Kenya has a lot to offer in terms of wildlife, beaches and facilities for everybody and that can be achieved hundred percent per budget you pose.

As a touristic destination Kenya offers a reasonable package to fit your budget, what you need to do is to take your phone and tell what kind of a budget you have and they will ensure that you enjoy the best out of your money.

From the famous panoramic views of the Mountain Kilimanjaro, Maasai Mara to the soothing waters of coastal beach, Kenya has no shortage of romantic areas to go and things to do.

A good history of romance in Kenya starts with The Duke of Cambridge Prince William who proposed to Catherine Middleton while they were at Lewa wildlife reserve run by Ian Craig on 19 October 2010.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy also known as Lewa Downs is located in northern Kenya is a wildlife sanctuary incorporating the Ngare Ndare Forest, formed in 1995 and covering over 62,000 acres (250 km2).

The Conservancy is home to a wide variety of wildlife including the rare and endangered black rhino, Grevy's zebra and sitatunga. It also includes the big five (Masai lion, African leopard, bush elephant, rhino and African buffalo).

Lewa holds over 12% of Kenya's eastern black rhinoceros population and the largest single population of Grevy's zebras in the world (approximately 350 individuals).

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is located south of Isiolo town but north of Mount Kenya.

The haunting beauty of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy on the Northern slopes of Mt Kenya in the area which has an abundance of wildlife including endangered species such as black rhino, white rhino and Grevy’s zebra one would not underestimates cheers and joy derived by the view accompanied by fabulous world class gourmet food.

“Looking at the beaches, various wildlife sceneries which are little known to the world, in fact are virgin, will give honeymooners a chance to explore not only nature but be one with it “says Omenda while justifying how lovely the country is for a newlywed.

He says the hotels and lodges in the country have packages for the honeymooners even if they have very little to spend.

“You can have little money but you want to spend wisely and in fact you want the best out of it, Kenyans will provide what you need” speaks Omenda adding that only in Kenya were you can get what you want for the amount of money you have.

Camren Nibigira from East Africa Tourism Platform (EATP) Regional Coordinator she insisted that the East Africans have no reason to go abroad for such facilities while they have plenty in their regional.

She asked people to travel within the country because of the accessibility and the price. She encourages local tourism by adding that, with 7 -8 million people who can go around as a tourist the East Africa has a good domestic market that nosed it can be vibrant.

“If they are coming to see us they should also explore our attractions instead of going to Dubai for the same purpose” said Nibigira.

She commended KTB by show casing Conservancy brands including the snapshots of one newlywed couple saying the branding would encourage local tourism.

Wausi Walya, Public Relations and Corporate Communications manager of KTB in an interview with this reporter way back during the Kenyans tourism showcase for journalists around the region, spoke also about the success despite of the fear of insecurity.

He however, admitted that security has been reinforced and there is no need to fear and that Kenya is still a place to visit.

He said they were proud to host two key international meetingswhich will serve as an icon and big hope in promoting Kenya as tourist country.

”If you can translate 800 delegates what it means for a country, then you will be in a position to say that we have managed to overcome the fear syndrome”

As Kenya Tourism Board is responsible for marketing Kenya abroad they are trying now to get east Africans utilize facilities available in Kenya for different purposes including a place for newlywed to enjoy themselves and make their journey the most memorable one.

“We have a beautiful country, easy to connect, and in fact a very natural destination of choice, we are very proud” he said Walya.
With colleagues, I visited a couple of hotels which have honeymooners package and found Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Resort to be the best in Nairobi for the couple to stay with almost everything the couple would want.

This hotel is situated in a Family-friendly place, Westland with 2 restaurants in the entertainment district, within a 10-minute walk of The Sarit Centre and Westgate Shopping Mall, Arboretum and Nairobi National Museum are also within 2 mi (3 km).

Outdoor pool is available in this hotel. A health club and a poolside bar are one among other amenities available to guests.

What a lovely place to be when it comes to enjoy the luxurious party of being together.
Good luck honeymooners.
