Women from BOART LONGYEAR supports Butimba Main Prison, in Mwanza

Women workers from the BOART LONGYEAR, international company engaged in the provision of mining services (Drilling) in various countries including Tanzania, have provided material support to prisoners of Butimba Central Prison in Mwanza.
One of the women, Magreth Bugeraha who is Administrative Assistant at BOART LONGYEAR company, said that the provided supports which includes 50 mattresses, 10 cartons of pads, three cartons of seedling soaps, two bags of powder soaps and slippers, aim to remind the prisoners that society has not isolated them instead they should still feel as part of society.
Magreth added that the support is also part of the women's celebration of International Women's Day of March 8, 2023, as they use the opportunity to give feedback to the prisoners to continue to be righteous while realizing that there is life after finishing their sentences.
And the Head of the Butimba Central Prison, Deogratius Maguza has expressed sincere gratitude to the women and the Boart Longyear company for reacting and providing that support and asking other stakeholders to imitate the good example.
Maguza has also noted that the prison has been providing various trainings to prisoners so that to build their ability to start a various wealth-generating activities after finishing their sentences.
On other part, the prisoners of the Butimba Central Prison were happy after meeting with one of the employees of the Boart Longyear company and thanked them for the help they provided.
In the handover, female employees of the Boart Longyear company were pleased with the factory of Butimba Central Prison for the production of various products including shoes, batik, mats and furniture and promised to support these efforts.
