40 hours per week (8 hours per day) / 8am to 5pm each day

About Standing Voice
Standing Voice is an NGO registered in Tanzania, Malawi and the UK promoting the dignity and welfare of people with albinism. As such, we focus on the social elevation of people with albinism in Tanzania. 

These individuals are often stigmatised because of their pale appearance. Many struggle to access healthcare, education, housing, and employment and face the enduring threat of violence and attack. Our work in Tanzania currently targets the health, education, livelihood, security and trauma recovery of this vulnerable group. We are currently implementing a 6 year strategic plan to expand our services across all regions of Tanzania by 2027.

Role summary
The Executive Director will report directly to the SV Tanzania Board and SV UK Directors, and will take executive management responsibility for all SV Tanzania operations.

The Executive Director will oversee all day-to-day administration and programs operations of the organization in Tanzania. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and nurturing key stakeholder relationships, including with top level government. The Executive Director will be tasked with representing the organisation at all key events and discussions. In addition the successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring financial management within the organization is maintained to a high standard, alongside the high standard of service delivery our beneficiaries expect from SV.

Duties and Responsibilities

Personnel management
- Provide management support to all project managers
- Oversee staff performance and take appropriate remedial action where necessary 
 - Implement new HR processes and procedures as may be required
- Hire new personnel in consultation with the Board of Directors
- Oversee staff contract renewals and the negotiating of employment terms 
- Oversee staff monthly supervision and annual appraisal meetings

Organization Mission and Strategy
- Works closely with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that the organization mission and vision are fulfilled through impactful programmes and strategic planning
- Manage staff strategic planning workshops
- Attend and contribute to regular strategy meetings with SV UK management 
- Take responsibility for the meeting of key strategic targets
- Take remedial measures where strategic targets are not being met

Partner liaison and agreements
- Build and nurture strong partnerships with key stakeholders
- Take responsibility for agreement introduction and maintenance of contracts and MoUs to ensure that these are up to date
- Establish key government relationships and establish government MoUs where this is required
- Attend partner events
- Host partner events

Financial management
- Take responsibility for financial management within the organisation 
- Ensure that financial audits are conducted in a timely manner
- Ensure that accurate budget and finance reports are submitted to SV UK on time

Public relations
- Generate a high level of visibility for SV Tanzania within Tanzania and on a pan Africa level
- Issue press releases regularly on SV’s work and achievements
- Attend press conferences and events

Fundraising
- Establish funder relationships with grant giving institutions and individuals within Tanzania
- Manage the staff team to ensure fundraising targets are met consistently 
- Host donors at project sites and for office meetings
- Oversee donor reporting undertaken by SV Tanzania

Governance
- Present on work targets to the SV Tanzania Board
- Ensure that all statutory obligations of SV Tanzania are met
- Ensure compliance with organization policies, mission and vision across all operations
- Ensure effective communication with the Chair of the SV Tanzania Board and UK Directors in a timely and accurate manner, sharing updates and information necessary for the Board to make informed decisions

Procurement
- Oversee all procurement activities
- Take responsibility for the negotiation of all procurement contracts
